Greg was a breeze to work with. I run a catering company and venue space, and my client hired Greg for her party. He came by to see the space and clearly had a vision for the party. He was super helpful and provided some insight on a sound system that would compliment the acoustics in the building. When he suggested testing the system with some Wu-Tang, I knew we were going to work together well. Britt's 30th birthday was the first of hundreds of parties I've catered where I heard bangin' tunes, one after another. It's actually the first time I've been hyped on the music at one of our events. Greg nailed the vibe and read the crowd from the casual start of the party, playing a selection of standout 45s, until the raging end of the night. He also had had the sense to not play my request — Gimme the Loot — until almost everyone had left (in hindsight, that was a pretty good decision). The recommended DJ list at my new venue will only have one name — Zio Greg.

Greg, in the potentially tough-crowd scenario of a wedding that was basically one-third DJs or musicians, multiple people have told us that of all the weddings our various groups of friends have been going to in this time in our lives, ours by far had the best music. One person claimed, 'It was like he was reading my mind,' for what she wanted to dance to next. A couple of our friends in Athens, GA are getting married in the spring (one also a DJ, former record store clerk, somewhat of a music snob, etc.), and were totally stressing about the DJ now that they've experienced what you do. (They just found one they think will work, and so can finally move onto the next phase of wedding planning, they say.) So thank you not only for DJing our wedding, but for upping the dancing standards of all the friends' weddings we will attend in our future, all across NORTH AMERICA!!!

GREG IS YOUR MAN. BOOK HIM. There are so many reasons you should. Greg made our party incredible. The dance floor was rammed all night, and everyone was legitimately into every song. Greg is worth his price because he is so professional - he really took the reigns on a lot of wedding day details that would have had us stressed out otherwise (sound equipment, coordinating timing with serving staff, etc), and then to boot played BANGERS all night. We met with him a few times beforehand so that he could get a feel for what we liked (which was his suggestion and so appreciated — what other djs do you know that want to personalize your party so intimately?). Then we sent him a few short lists of songs we liked, and he was able to fill in the blanks from there. It was so stress-free, and people are still talking about the music. There was not one single dud song. He also made a seriously awesome mix for cocktail hour which he then sent to us - we've been listening to it non-stop. GREG IS YOUR MAN. BOOK HIM.

I can't say enough about how happy my wife and I with our decision to book the Zio Greg. My wife and I have very selective tastes in music and we wanted to make sure the wedding's overall sound was a big part of the big day. We met with a total of three wedding DJs, and while Greg wasn't the cheapest of the bunch, we were immediately put at ease with the great vibe we got from him.
When it comes to the jams, Greg certainly knows what he's doing. We were after a diverse and solid mix from old school funk and soul to hip-hop and obscure '80s punk rock. Greg's musical repertoire is massive — he read the crowd perfectly and had everyone cutting grooves on the dance floor. Greg was totally accommodating to the specific musical requests Lauren and I had and was great about incorporating those into the mix.
Greg is not only a musical wizard behind the wheels of steel, his experience and dedication to his craft is obvious as he kept the whole show on time and even improvised in a few areas on our wedding day. Our day-of wedding planner wasn't the most vocal person and Greg had no problem taking charge and keeping everyone's spirits up and on-point throughout the day.
To make a long story short: A quick scan of the crowd during cocktail hour so lots of smiles and head bopping, everyone digging the music. That same feeling spilled into dinner and the rest of the great night ahead. If there's one thing you want in a wedding DJ, it's to not have to worry or think of the music being played in the background. It should just be there and 'fit the mood'. Greg's got an uncanny knack for reading the crowd and playing accordingly.

Greg is just amazing! I was so happy to have him DJ our wedding. I met Greg while he was DJ'ing at WVRST Sausage & Beer Hall and loved his music so asked if he did weddings as well. When I checked out his website I knew I didn't need to look anywhere else because his style totally clicked with ours. In all our dealings with him not only he was fun and easygoing, but also he was very professional and organized. When we met him in person he presented us with draft 'itinerary' of the day and all we had to do was fill in the blanks with our songs. During the ceremony and wedding, everything went smoothly and we had such a fun time dancing! One of my friends wanted to book him for his wedding in August but unfortunately Greg was already booked up. So, I would absolutely recommend Greg to anyone looking for a fun party!

Zio Greg rocked. Our. Wedding. From the second we sat down at our first meeting, I knew that we were on the exact same page and we couldn’t have had a better guy in our corner! In addition to talking about the fantastic music he would be playing, he also helped us talk through our order of events and made amazingly valuable suggestions on how the night should unfold; a true testament to his experience and professionalism. He also went out of his way to coordinate with the MCs, the musicians for the ceremony, and the hosts of the venue to make sure all the necessary equipment would be there. Even though our wedding was 2 hours out of town, he was completely unfazed by the journey and showed up early to set up his equipment as though he did it every day.
On the day of our wedding, Greg played tunes that the entire crowd just LOVED from the cocktail reception onward. Our guests couldn’t even make it through dinner without jumping up to dance and Greg kept feeding them more! He had the dance floor packed and jumpin’ for the entire night. He played something for everyone, and I was flooded with compliments for weeks after the wedding. Tons of my guests wanted his contact information to book him for future functions and I have been only too happy to pass it on. Everybody was impressed with Greg and we can’t thank him enough for providing the perfect soundtrack to a perfect day!

Zio Greg handled all the music and equipment requirements at our 3-day weekend wedding in June 2009 and we wholeheartedly endorse his work. Greg Lanzillotta is a music lover's DJ. He has an amazing collection and knowledge of music, and is able to pull out not only the usual favourites, but dig deep into his vast trove of amazing b-sides and lesser-known treasures, while still mixing in our picks. I've seen him DJ several events. He keeps a sharp eye on the dance floor and responds to what the crowd likes, raising the bar from one track to the next. He creates energy and makes you want to dance. He was a complete professional to work with and would still be a bargain at twice the price. Don't throw an event without him.
